**cancelled** GRAND UNION CANAL - day paddle - Apologies for short notice
Sunday 23 August 2020
Contact Pete Bradshaw

This trip was originally planned for the River Cam - but is now not practical due to social distancing requirements.

Apologies for short notice

This is an out and back trip from Campbell Park, Milton Keynes (no car shuttle needed), heading north and west on this contour section of canal with views at times over the surrounding countryside. There are no locks on this section, so no portages necessary. It is intended to take a coffee break and, later, lunch at Stantonbury Park, where there should be space to socially distance. The newly-regenerated railway town of Wolverton is intended as a destination (5.5 miles each way, total 11 miles) but trips of different distances are possible so the more ambitious may wish to opt for the Gt Ouse Aqueduct (6.5 miles each way, total 13 miles) (please let me know if you are interested in this option) or those seeking a shorter trip may opt to stop at Stantonbury Park and await our return (3 miles each way, total 6 miles). This is a suburban section (so the tow path is likely to be busy) but it is attractively green and enhanced with artwork. There are no toilets either at the start or en route.

Following coronavirus guidelines, participants will be split into groups of no more than 6 people, each group paddling independently.

You must not attend if you, or anyone in your household, has symptoms of coronavirus. If you develop symptoms after the trip, please let me know
