As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record BRITISH CANOEING numbers for those who have them. Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of Britain's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.   These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and British Canoeing's insurance.
Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

RIVER THAMES - CHERTSEY safety practice M12442/2019
From Friday 27 September 2019
To Sunday 29 September 2019
Contact Robin Hickman

Thames and SE Group have booked 10 pitches and thus have rally rates for camping. These are (mid season) £6 per unit per night. Plus extra £5.55 per night for electric. (A very good deal!)
Pre-booking with Robin  is essential. It may be possible to add extra pitches to our booking – but please contact me soon, as I need to agree this with site.

On Sat 8 we will start at 10.30 with some safety practice. Have you capsized or fallen in this year? Were you rescued? Could you rescue someone else? This session planned as a single half-day to practice our on-water safety procedures. It is fun too! Thames licence or Canoe England card required. It involves: capsize rescue, towing, support strokes, plus any other aspect of interest. Bring ideas for different rescue techniques. All types of canoes/ kayaks. There are spare boats in the shed if required. Getting wet is not compulsory but this is a good opportunity to build confidence, so bring wetsuit, swim togs, spare clothes, nose clip – or just yourself!
There will be Canoe England coaches present.
Attendance at this (and similar sessions) will give run organisers assurance that you are prepared for our more challenging outings.

On Saturday afternoon and again Sunday we will set up one or more paddle trips to suit all.
Please bear in mind the Club pitch times, your pitch is booked from midday until 11.00 am the following morning. We can normally discuss some lenience on this for Sunday departure but it must be agreed in advance on Sunday.

If not camping, please report to reception, who may have car parking plan for the day, after boats are unloaded.
